White Rose Tag

A Pretty White Rose Tag from my fellow bloggers Laradee and Juliet. Thanks a lot girl!

What does a white rose represent? White is a color symbolic of many positive things, such as marriage, purity, virtue, and innocence. White is linked to emotions of harmony and serenity. The breathtaking purity and simplistic beauty of a white rose can’t be beat. White roses signify deep, clear emotions. They are given without reservation or ambivalence. The red rose signifies lust or passion, but the white rose goes much deeper to suggest an infinite love that goes to the very core of one’s being. It carries an almost spiritual significance. White roses symbolize devotion, kindness, and deep friendship in love.

I'm passing this white rose to Ilocana, Cecille, Nice, Laura and Sheng.

Deadly Air Show Accident

There was an accident happened today during the Air Show here in Huntsville Alabama International Airport. I felt sad knowing that families and friends were attending the said event today to enjoy and have fun but suddenly it turned out into a disaster. The storm ripped tents from anchors and tossed them around like toys. A five year-old boy is dead and twelve injured after a microsburst hit the Air Show this afternoon. I just hope that the family of the five year-old boy will find peace and move on with their life someday. For the story of the accident click here and videos click here.

A tiring day...

Today hubby and I watch the Air Show which we thought was just a little Air Show but we're wrong. We missed most of the Air shows coz the official website said that the Air Show starts at 12:00 noon. We left the house at 12:05 PM and we were stuck on the road because of the heavy traffic. We arrived 2:15 PM at the Airport's parking lot where the Air Show was held. Normally, from here to the Airport is only 25 minutes but not yesterday. Grrrr! We did a lot of walking from the parking lot to the place where there are tents for food. I was a little hungry already because I only ate 1 boiled egg before we left. I thought there are restaurants around but there's none. And the line was long if you want to buy food or just drinks. It's hot today and I smell the sunblock lotion from other people. Spectators were told to bring sunblock lotion because it's gonna be a hot day so I brought one too. When hubby felt that he's a little dehydrated, we went to the tents that sold water and fries. The french fries were not good, it's thick and oily but I was hungry so I ate it with ketchup. Then I drink the cold water which made me feel better. I took a lot of pictures of the aircraft especially the Blue Angels Air Show. They are really good in doing tricks while they're way up in the sky. It's awesome! After the show we went to the Filipino store and had dinner at Subway coz hubby was very hungry already. We arrive home at 7:15 PM and when we check the schedule of the shows for today the Air Show really starts at 10:00 AM. Grrrrr! We missed most of the shows! We thought that it's just showing of the air craft models in the morning and the Air show is at 12:00 noon. We don't want to wait that long for the Air show that's why we decided to go at noon. That's the result of a not so organized event with different info's from website, tv commercial and newspaper. Oh well, better luck next time if there's next time. ^_^ Anyway, we sleep late again last night. Geesh! I really wanted to break this bad habit of sleeping late at night because of blogging. But I can only do it if I won't turn on the computer coz if I do, I'm sure I'll be stuck in blogging again. :)

Confused about accepting offers

I received an advertising offer from somebody who works in advertising company and posted a comment on my other blog about it. This is the second time that I received an offer but I'm confused. Though I felt great that the two company choose me to do business with them but I'm scared that it might be a scam or cause me trouble in the near future regarding the payout and paying the taxes. I'd rather accept offers from 3 P's and Smorty coz they are safe and I trust them. So I turned down the first offer and I will ask hubby's opinion about the second offer. I have to be careful coz scammers are just around the corner. I don't know if some of you have this experience in the past but if you do, I'll be glad to hear from you about this matter. Thanks!

The Best Gift Ever

Thanks Cecille and Joy for this very inspiring and touching tag. It's really a nice one. :)

*** Start Here ***
Friendly Rules:1. Simply copy the inspirational story and in the end write down the lesson you have learned out from this. 2. Put your own blog name and link. Pass or tag this to your friends to inspire them. 3. Start copy from “Begin Copy” until “End Copy” to your blog.

--- The Best Gift Ever ---
A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.
Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said,"With all your money you give me a Bible?"And stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.
Many years passed and the young man was verysuccessful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.
He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the stillnew Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11,"And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?" As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...PAID IN FULL.
How many times do we miss God's blessing because they are not packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for...
PLS. SEND THIS TO AT LEAST FIVE PEOPLE SO AS TO LET THIS GREAT LESSON FLOW AROUND.
End Copy
Lesson I learned: (The best gift doesn't always come with the nice packages, the Bible itself is a gift)

Am I a good cook?

No I'm not but I'm trying to learn how to cook healthy meals. I learn not to use MSG (monosodium glutamate) coz it's not good for our health. Though there are times that I wanted to buy MSG at the Asian Market because I'm used to eat foods in the Philippines with MSG but here, I'm on MSG diet. haha But the main reason is white people can't stand with MSG. They might not notice it when they're eating the food but for them it's like a poison. Like my hubby, he easily have cramps after eating something that won't agree with his body and MSG is one of them. Anyways, I love to experiment on food but of course I need to know some basic knowledge about the different cuisines that I tried. I also get tired of cooking the same thing so I want to cook something interesting but not complicated to make. The picture shows that I need help from the master chefs. The books were on sale so I grabbed them. haha I might not use these books for now but maybe someday I will. ^_^

Financial Crisis Around the World

Now people in USA are facing financial crisis due to the high price of fuel. Because of that everything goes up in price too which makes it difficult for most people, not only for the poor but also the middle class are affected by it. Just this week hubby noticed that there are more people this year going out biking compared to last year. Then we saw the news that there are other people who prefer to ride the bus than the airplane because of the high price in getting a plane ticket. It's so sad that this is happening not only from other countries but also here in US. I heard from a friend that she and her husband saw a show on tv about Americans who are in debt which made other individuals commit suicide. Then another friend of mine who had a friend who visit Philippines last week said that prices in the Philippines also is now expensive. We know about the increasing price of the rice but I don't have any idea how expensive other things there now. I don't know when this problem be solved but what we should do is to learn how to control to not spend more than what we earn. Competing with the Joneses won't help so we better be careful in spending but of course don't starve yourself. I read an article in the past about money and the author said (which I think a financial advisor) "if you don't have the money, then you can't afford it".

Sad but there's still hope...

I like having a day off during week days so I can have time for myself, visit a friend, shopping or just cleaning the house. But after I had 2 or 3 consecutive day offs during the weekend, I enjoyed it. Hubby saw a commercial on tv yesterday about the air show at the Airport that will happen this Saturday and he plan that we'll watch it. Of course I don't wanna miss it so I talked to the Manager today to change my schedule. I asked the manager this morning to have a day off every Saturday but next week Thursday I wanna get off from work an hour early because I have a dental appointment. The manager said ok so I thought she changed my schedule for next week but when I looked at my schedule, I have Thursday off and have a schedule this Saturday. So I talked to another manager to change my schedule but she can't do anything about it because other employees asked for day offs too and two were suspended next week. So tomorrow I have to call work to talk to the assistant manager about changing my schedule. I do hope that I can have my day off every Saturday so I can enjoy my weekend. Happy weekend to All! :)

The Old Man at the Dumpster

This is the view outside our apartment. Every time I eat my breakfast or lunch, I can see what's going on outside which sometimes entertains me while eating specially if I saw squirrels running around playing or just looking for food. Then I saw this old man and I was wondering what he's doing at the dumpster. I was observing of what he took in the dumpster so when he passed by close to where I was still watching him while he goes out of our place to go to another dumpster maybe, I saw a big plastic bags hanging in his bike. I noticed that he took the soda cans. When hubby was home I told him about the old man and said that I want to give the cans to the old man and not throw it in the dumpster so the old man won't dig it there anymore. The next time I saw him; I hurriedly went out and give the cans to him. He was saying something to me but I can't understand. I think he's speaking to me in Spanish and the only English word I heard from him that I understand is "Thank you". He normally comes to the dumpster here once a week or once every 2 weeks. When I started working, I haven't handed him the cans anymore. Maybe he comes here early when I am still at work. I sometimes saw him outside biking with his plastic bags hanging around his bike while I was going to the store after work. When our cans were piling up already, hubby decided to bring the cans to his work because they recycle cans, sell it and donate the money that they make from the cans to the family of those who are serving in Iraq. In short, I wasn't feeling so bad anymore knowing that the cans we saved was able to help other needy people.

Whole grain Spaghetti for Hubby

Hubby likes eating pasta but because he's very concern of his health, he's careful of what he eats. We bought whole grain and whole wheat pasta which I don't like because the taste is not as good as the regular pasta. But of course, I have to cook something healthy for hubby and cook something for me also if I don't plan to eat the whole wheat or whole grain pasta. Here's the result of the whole grain spaghetti with meat and cheese on top of it. :)

My Blood Type is B

Thanks Bregie for this meme!

According to a Japanese institute that does research on blood types, there are certain personality traits that seem to match up with certain blood types.

TYPE O
You want to be a leader, and when you see something you want, you keep striving until you achieve your goal. You are a trend-setter, loyal, passionate, and self-confident. Your weaknesses include vanity and jealously and a tendency to be too competitive.

TYPE A
You like harmony, peace and organization. You work well with others, and are sensitive, patient and affectionate. Among your weaknesses are stubbornness and an inability to relax.

TYPE B
You're a rugged individualist, who's straightforward and likes to do things your own way. Creative and flexible, you adapt easily to any situation. But your insistence on being independent can sometimes go too far and become a weakness.

TYPE AB
Cool and controlled, you're generally well liked and always put people at ease. You're a natural entertainer who's tactful and fair. But you're standoffish, blunt, and have difficulty making decisions.

How do you rate?

My bloodtype is B. I'm a rugged individualist, who's straightforward and likes to do things my own way. Creative and flexible, I can adapt easily to any situation. But my insistence on being independent can sometimes go too far and become a weakness.

Now let's keep this tag rolling! I want to know if your blood type really fits your personality.

A bloggers foresight

Do you know what I'm thinking?

I am not a great blogger but I tried my best that my readers will have fun when they visit my blog. Thanks to my friend Ellaine of Scottz Princess who thinks that I'm a great blogger because of the hit back that I got everyday. ^_^

Anyway, I was amazed with all the awards that I received in the past at my first blog though I was a newbie at that time but when I started receiving opps I didn't receive many awards anymore. Tags are still around the corner, they come and go but most of them are linking tags to get more visitors. There are times that I don't know what to write and I have to think of a good subject that will catch the attention of my reader. For me it's nice to have a good foresight if you want to be a good blogger. You have to think of what will be your next topic, what subject you want to talk about and nice photos to share about the subject of your post wherever you are. I think, once you know how to blend your real life and the blogging world, you'll know what to do after making some mistakes. I did and still struggling.

There's one blog that I like to visit because she always have a good topic everyday. In short, her blog is not boring. She's Juliana, a Pinay WAHM who has a good insight and foresight about life. If you're a newbie and wants to have lots of blogger friends then keep on asking for an x-link if you like the blog that you visit.

Another blogger friend of mine talked about how blog hopping helped her in making money thru her blog. So if your blog has no PR yet, don't worry. Just keep on blogging and blog hopping. Blogging needs a lot of hard work but once you're in it, you'll enjoy doing it. You have to be aware of what's around you coz you don't know, the simple things that you see are good subjects for posting your next topic. Have fun blogging!

My New Blog

This is another new blog of mine. I tried adding another blog once and deleted it because I don't have time to blog hop for both blogs but I hope this time I can manage having two blogs. This is really a challenge for me but at the same time learning how to prioritize things in life. If this won't work then you know what will happen next. DELETE! hahaha But of course I will let you know also if I plan to delete this so I won't be wasting your time to blog hop here. I just love this background that I can't resist making another blog. hehe Cheers!
